Microwave Gravy

Ingredients

  • 2tbsp Butter, room temperature
  • 2tbsp Flour
  • 1 cup Cream
  • 1 Stock cube
  • 1 cup Water
  • ¼ tsp Kosher salt
  • ¼ tsp Black pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice, freshly squeezed

Method

  • Place the butter in an 8 cup glass measuring jug or in a glass bowl
  • Heat it at 100% power, uncovered, for 2 minutes in the Morphy Richards Microwave Oven.
  • Remove it from the microwave oven with the help of kitchen towel/ mitten.
  • Add the flour and whisk thoroughly.
  • Return to the microwave and cook uncovered at 100% for 2 minutes more.
  • Remove and whisk in the cream, stock cube and water.
  • Cook, uncovered at 100% for 2 minutes.
  • Remove, give it a quick stir and cook for 3 minutes more.
  • Remove and adjust the salt as required.
  • Add the black pepper and whisk until smooth.
  • Add lemon juice to taste.
  • Serve over or with roasted meats
