Beverages for festive season

Festive season is here, and with it, the spirit of festive cheer. In such times, you are most certainly going to keep busy with having guests over, and still managing the pending work before you unwind during the holidays. Hence, opting for alcoholic cocktails may not always be the most prudent option. Mocktails and soups naturally, are the flavour of the season.

Having the extra tinge of cold in the air leaves you wanting for an added sense of warmth from your evening drinks, and that is exactly why we decided to whip up a few quick but charming mocktail and soup preparations. These do not need heavy preparations, and can still make for lip smacking additions to house gatherings!

Using your Morphy Richards microwave oven, you can make strawberry or raspberry syrups by reducing the liquid into a thick consistency and then using it in the mocktails as a base. Simply add soda and make a delicious lipsmacking drink. You can even make fruit compotes which can be used in desserts and drinks alike. You can use them with cocktails as well as juice blends.

In the Morphy Richards oven, you can roast pineapples and make a caramelized pina colada. The Morphy Richards oven is the perfect appliance to multitask your way through a host of things – be it roasting fruits for a Christmas special, or using it as an everyday oven for regular preparations. It really does help to have such a versatile appliance in your kitchen, doesn’t it?

Meanwhile, if you’re looking for some hot treats, you can also try a cheese or carrot and orange soup, which can be made using the Morphy Richards Soup Maker. Serve it hot with croutons or freshly baked bread. The bread can be toasted and even be baked in a Morphy Richards Oven.

While we’re at it, here’s a recipe for a delicious eggnog that can be made in your Morphy Richards Food Processor:

Combine the eggs and egg yolks in the jug. Blend at the lowest setting until the eggs are broken up. Keep blending at the lowest setting and slowly add the sugar. Blend until the sugar is completely mixed, about 30 seconds or until the mixture has lightened to a creamy light yellow. Gradually pour in the milk, rum and bourbon, and continue for about one minute or until combined. Slowly pour in the cream and continue blending for about 1 minute or until frothy and combined. Place the FP jug in the refrigerator for 1-4 hours. When ready to serve, blend the mixture on a low setting to refresh and aerate. Pour into tall glasses over ice, top with freshly grated nutmeg and serve chilled.

With all these recipes and your Morphy Richards products, you can be rest assured that your guests will surely have a great time!
