Baked Dahi Kali Mirch Chicken

Ingredients

  • ½ cup hung Yogurt
  • 2 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp Coriander seeds, coarsely ground
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 3 dried Red chilies
  • 2 Green chilies, minced
  • 1 tbsp Black pepper, freshly ground
  • 300gms Chicken breast, boneless, sliced into 2 inch pieces
  • 300gms Chicken leg, boneless, sliced into 2 inch pieces
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • ½ cup Coriander leaves, chopped

Method

  • In a large bowl, combine the hung yogurt, ginger garlic paste, ground coriander and mix till combined.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add the dry red chilies, green chilies, and black pepper.
  • Sauté till fragrant for about 15 seconds.
  • Transfer into the bowl of spiced hung yogurt.
  • Add the chicken pieces and mix well to coat the meat with the marinade.
  • Set aside to marinate for atleast 2 hours or overnight.
  • Preheat the Morphy Richards OTG to 200oCelsius for 10 minutes.
  • Place the marinated chicken on the baking tray.
  • Place the tray in the oven and bake for 15 minutes.
  • Then, increase the temperature to 250oCelsius and bake for 25 minutes or until the chicken is light golden on the surface.
  • Garnish with coriander and serve hot with salad and tandoori naan or roti.
