Baked Chapati Nachos

Nachos are irresistible and guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser! These whole wheat chips are easy to make, healthy and enjoyed by all. Served as a dual purpose, you can enjoy these small wonders with a cup of tea or coffee or can be served as a starter for a party.

Ingredients

For Nachos:

 

  • Whole wheat flour – 2 cups
  • Olive oil – 3 tbsp
  • Salt – As per taste
  • Water – As per requirement

For Avocado Dip:

  • Avocados, halved and pitted – 2
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped – ½ cup
  • Lime juice – 3-4 tbsp
  • Greek yogurt – ¼ cup
  • Garlic powder – As per taste
  • Salt – As per taste
  • Water – As per requirement

Method

Step 1: Take a large bowl and add whole wheat flour and water and start kneading. Knead until you get a soft smooth dough. Please remember the dough should not be shaggy and sticky.

Step 3: Divide the dough into equal small lemon sized balls. Roll out chapatis or tortillas as thin as you can. You can also use leftover chapatis for making this dish.

 

Step 4: Heat a griddle on the gas stove and reduce the flame once hot. Cook the chapati until small bubbles appear on one side. Flip the chapati and cook on the other side.

 

Step 5: Remove the chapati from heat. Allow it to cool for 5 mins.

 

Step 6: Cut into triangles with the help of a knife.

 

Step 7: Place the triangle-shaped chapatis on a baking sheet. Do not let them overlap each other. Sprinkle olive oil and salt. Bake for 6-8 mins until it turns brown and crisp.

 

Your Crispy Baked Chapati Nachos are ready to serve!

 

To make Avocado dip:

 

Step 8: Take all the ingredients in a mixer grinder and blend to a smooth paste. If needed, add 2 tbsp of water to get the right consistency. You can use Icon Royal - sapphrire 600W Mixer Grinder or visit official Morphy Richards online store to check out a wide range of options.

Step 9: Adjust the seasonings (if needed). Voila! Your Avocado Dip is now ready to serve.

Notes/Tips:

You can also bake your nachos with veggies, beans, cheese and cooked meat.
